LES Network Input Sessions: Building the Leiden Education Support (LES) Network together

Date
Wednesday 25 November 2026
Time
Address
The Workshop, PLNT, Langegracht 70, Leiden

The Leiden Education Support (LES) Network is Leiden University’s network for Teaching & Learning, created in 2026 to strengthen teacher development, encourage further educational innovation, and facilitate connections between teachers and professional support staff (faculties, LLInC and ICLON, among others). The LES Network is supported by the Npuls CTL transition grant and coordinated by LLInC.

We believe the LES Network should be built with educators, not just for them. That's why we are organising interactive input sessions at an early stage to gain a better understanding of our needs, current practices, and opportunities. We invite teachers, together with professional support staff, to engage in an open and inspiring exchange of perspectives. The insights gathered will directly influence the priorities, activities, and future direction of the LES Network.

When: Wednesday 25 November 2026
Where: The Workshop, PLNT, Langegracht 70, Leiden
For whom: Teachers & professional support staff
Language: English

You can register for either one session (half day) or attend both (full day). Lunch is included for all participants. The programme will cover two broad themes:

10:00 – 12:30 | Session 1 - Your professional growth as an individual teacher
12:30 – 13:30 | Lunch (all participants welcome)
13:30 – 16:00 | Session 2 – How do we strengthen peer-to-peer learning and teacher communities?

Both sessions will be highly interactive, providing an opportunity to jointly reflect on and explore the following questions:

  • What already exists? What professional development opportunities do you currently use, and what do you value most or least about them?

  • What is missing? What formal and informal activities would need to be developed to better support your teaching practice? Are there groups of teachers whose needs are currently underserved? How well does the current mix of faculty-level and interfaculty initiatives meet your needs?

  • What would help? Which resources or support mechanisms would enable you to learn, collaborate, and develop more effectively?

This is your opportunity to help shape the LES Network, ensuring it supports your professional growth, collaboration, and lifelong learning, while creating lasting value for you and your colleagues.
