Talent and Development Platform

As of 6 October 2025, Leiden University has incorporated three key HR processes into a new platform: the Talent and Development Platform.

The three processes are GROW, recruitment & selection and learning & developmentThe new platform allows you to:

  • Prepare and record GROW interviews;
  • Post job openings and track job applications;
  • Find and register for training and courses.

The platform, which is based on the SAP SuccessFactors system, can be accessed through the Service Portal until 1 January 2026. This will change with the migration to BAS Insite. More information will follow in January 2026.

Who can use the platform and how?

The Talent and Development Platform is where you will find the GROW form for recording your development goals, evaluating your competencies and noting areas of attention related to your well-being.

What has changed?

The GROW form looks the same but offers extra options. You can now use it to record 360-degree feedback, team goals, development ambitions, and leadership and University Job Classification System (UFO) competencies.

How can you access the GROW form?

Starting 6 October, you will see two tiles in the Service Portal: one for completing current GROW interviews (this tile is called 'GROW - Started before 6 October') and one for starting new ones (this tile is called 'GROW- from 6 October'). Please make sure to complete your GROW reports by 30 November 2025. All completed reports from the past five years will be migrated to the new platform. 

The Recruitment & Selection module in the Talent and Development Platform is available for recruiting talent. You will find all the relevant processes, including creating job postings and assessing candidates, as well as appointing and reassigning staff.

What has changed?

The new Recruitment & Hiring module offers the following advantages:

  • Job posting templates per faculty/department
  • Selection and recruitment of candidates based on leadership competencies.
  • More insight into the job search behaviour of applicants.
  • Better documentation of reassignment procedures.

We have a wide range of training courses to support your career and personal and professional development. As in previous systems, the Talent and Development Platform allows you to search for what you need.

Why a Talent and Development Platform?

Following our Strategic Plan, ‘Innovating and Connecting' Leiden University aims to enhance its organisation and processes. A ‘good basis’ creates ‘room for innovation’ This is reflected in the new Talent and Development Platform. The platform makes it easier to track your progress within a process and see the steps ahead. At the same time, the university aims to facilitate and encourage opportunities for professional growth. The platform supports this by enabling the collection of more information. In the future, this will allow us to add other talent-management processes to the platform.
