Sharing and sending files
If you wish to share files with colleagues within or outside the university, you can save these files in the cloud. You can do this with OneDrive, which is part of your Microsoft 365 account. If your files are too large to be sent by e-mail, you can use SURFfilesender.
Microsoft 365 and OneDrive
With Microsoft 365 you can use the university OneDrive cloud storage. In OneDrive, the files that you need are available anywhere.
- At your university workplace, the Microsoft apps OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and ToDo are already installed. You can also log in via the Microsoft 365 portal.
- Working from home, you can log in to the Microsoft 365 portal. How to do this and more information can be found on the helpdesk portal.
SURFdrive
SURFdrive is a public cloud storage service. With SURFdrive, your data is stored in the Netherlands. Preferably use OneDrive to store university files. You only need SURFdrive if you need to collaborate with colleagues inside or outside the university who use SURFdrive.

SURFFileSender
SURFFilesender is a service to send (large) files via your web browser. It is more secure than Dropbox, Googledrive or WeTransfer. In SURFfileSender, the files are sent and saved via Dutch servers. This means you can send your files in a safer way.

Other tools for sharing files
If you wish to use an external platform for sharing or sending files that is not listed here, you may be able to access it via SURFconext. SURFconext is part of SURF and provides access to more than 50 tools and supporting ICT services offered by other parties. You can access these services and tools by logging in to SURFconext with your ULCN account. If you use a specific service on a regular basis, you may be able to have this service included in SURFconext. For more information, please contact your information manager.
