The Knowledge Orchard: practical interdisciplinary steps for everyone
Whether you are a Leiden researcher, teacher, support staff or administrator, there is something for everyone at the interdisciplinary event The Knowledge Orchard on Friday 28 November. We have picked out some of the highlights from the programme.
For researchers: leadership, publishing, grants and monsters
As a researcher, The Knowledge Orchard offers a wealth of interdisciplinary tips and knowledge that you can apply in your own work. For example, a combination of the Young Academy Leiden and the Leiden Leadership Programme will host a session on leadership, speaking a common language and bridging differences in collaboration. Professor Laurens Hessels will update you on the most fruitful forms of collaboration and interdisciplinary publishing. The Leiden Research Support Network discusses successful interdisciplinary grant applications and opportunities for the future. And especially for young researchers, Professor Marieke Adriaanse tackles monsters, myths and mindsets to give them a realistic picture of interdisciplinary possibilities.
For teachers: teaching skills, inspiring lesson plans, LEGO and AI
Leiden University has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help teachers set up impactful interdisciplinary education. At The Knowledge Orchard, you will find countless practical teaching methods and inspiration. How about the expertise of Indira Day from ICLON, the lessons learned from the new Bachelor's programme in Science for Sustainable Societies, innovative ideas from LUC The Hague for interdisciplinary teaching programmes, playing with LEGO to build the classroom of the future and a homemade AI bot that supports you in setting up an interdisciplinary teaching programme?

And with a bot developed in Leiden, you can lend a helping hand to educational programmes.
