Higher education cuts

The drastic cuts to higher education announced by the Schoof caretaker government will affect us all. Although not everything has been finalised, and elections for the Dutch House of Representatives will be held on 29 October 2025, we aim to keep you informed of all developments on this website as best we can.

Assessment of non-Dutch-taught programmes (TAO), the Balanced Internationalisation Bill (WIB), ‘self-governance’ plans, the ‘Andere Tijden’ working group... The government cuts will have a significant impact on both students and staff. The Executive Board has announced steps to help mitigate the effects of these cuts.
