University buildings closed on 2 and 3 October due to Leidens Ontzet

19 September 2023

On Tuesday 3 October we celebrate Leidens Ontzet. Therefore, all university buildings in Leiden will be closed on Monday 2 October and Tuesday 3 October. Some locations on our The Hague campus will be open.

Leave hours

Leidens Ontzet is a Leiden holiday. You have this day off without having to take leave hours. Monday 2 October is a compulsory closure day. The hours you would have normally worked on this day have already been automatically deducted from your leave hours at the beginning of this year.

Opening hours in The Hague

Alternative opening hours apply to some buildings on our The Hague campus. Wijnhaven and Beehive will be open on both 2 and 3 October. The Schouwburgstraat will be open on 2 October and closed on 3 October. Stichthage and Anna van Bueren will be closed on both days.

University Library opening hours

For the library, alternative opening hours apply as well. Most locations are closed on 2 and 3 October. See the overview of all locations here.

Import holidays and compulsory closures in Outlook

You can automatically add national holidays and compulsory closure days to your Outlook calendar. Find out how to do so on the staff website.
