Elisa Smit

Hi! My name is Elisa, I’m 26 years old and studied Communication in The Hague. Since May 2024 I’ve been working as a communications officer at SOZ, where I really enjoy putting my creativity to use. In my free time I like to stay active: motorcycling is a big passion, I practice piano, and I’m enthusiastically learning to snowboard. I also love catching up with friends on a terrace and I proudly hold a board position at JUL. Always up for a new challenge and a good conversation! Evani Seymor 

Hi! I’m Evani, 26 years old, and I’ve been working as a communications officer at the university for almost two years now. What do I love about my job? The variety! I get to be involved in all sorts of projects, from student well-being and interdisciplinary collaboration to university elections and Una Europa. Since December 2024 I’ve also been on the JUL board, which I enjoy a lot. It’s great fun to organize activities together with the other board members (and of course join in ourselves too). Jip de Bloois 

Hii! I’m Jip, 27 years old, and I’m a communications officer at the university. About two years ago I started in Strategic Communication and Marketing at the Administration and Central Services. These days, I focus entirely on the organization and communication of the university’s 450th anniversary celebrations. Wondering what I’m working on? Have a look at the anniversary website 😊 In my free time I enjoy tennis lessons and yoga, and I also love dog-sitting for friends and colleagues hint hint. Lisa Horenberg 

Hi! I’m Lisa, 30 years old, and since February 2024 I’ve been working at Leiden University as a programme officer for Una Europa, an alliance of 11 European research universities. I support colleagues in different ways with the alliance and coordinate various activities and initiatives for Leiden students and staff. It’s a role that’s wonderfully diverse and never boring! Since starting in Leiden, I’ve met so many great colleagues both through my role and via JUL, and I’m excited to bring even more fun and community spirit together with the rest of the JUL board. Outside of work I love being in nature, going to concerts and museums, and you’ll often find me at the gym. I also love hiking and traveling, am a huge dog fan (!), and I’m always up for karaoke! Marit Postma 

Hiii! I’m Marit, 27 years old, and I work with great pleasure at SEEDS within FWN, while also pursuing a PhD at FGW. What I enjoy most is the variety in my work and the nice atmosphere at the office. Honestly, I tend to find almost everything fun and I’m always enthusiastic about doing something new! In my free time, my favorite things are dancing, traveling, skiing (or other winter sports), cuddling animals (especially dogs), reading, and occasionally painting the walls and furniture in my house. Over the past year, I’ve joined many JUL activities, and I’m really looking forward to organizing them together with the rest of the board. See you soon 😀
