The University’s Honours Programmes provide students with an extra challenge alongside their regular curriculum. They offer more depth and breadth and are of a more interdisciplinary nature. The University offers an Honours College (BA) and the Leiden Leadership Programme (MA).
The Honours Programmes are for students whose marks are high and who are motivated, critical, academically curious and capable of self-reflection. The Honours Academy provides extracurricular programmes to students at various stages in their studies. Secondary-school students can sign up for the Pre-University College and the Pre-University Classes. The bachelor’s students can sign up for the Honours College and Bachelor Honours Classes. And master’s students can sign up for the Leiden Leadership Programme, International Leiden Leadership Programme and Master Honours Classes.

Students develop problem-solving skills at a high disciplinary or interdisciplinary level. They also build an international network within and beyond their own discipline. Information about the individual Honours Programmes can be found in the e-Prospectus.
