Starter and incentive grants at the Faculty of Science
Last year, the Dutch government announced starter and incentive grants ("Starters- en stimuleringsbeurzen") for higher education and academia. The aim of these grants is to lighten the staff workload and reduce competition and pressure to obtain grants, as well as to encourage independent research. The government pushed for a rapid implementation of this programme, and the first grants were already assigned in the previous calendar year (see here for the university's FAQ).
Now that the next round of grant assignments is forthcoming, the Young Academy Leiden invites you to learn more about these grants and how they are implemented within our Faculty of Science at a lunch in the new Gorlaeus. After a short introduction from YAL, FWN's executive director Suzanne van der Pluijm will tell us how the grants have been handled so far and what the plans for the future are, and take your questions. There will also be plenty of time to meet with colleagues from other institutes and YAL members from our faculty.
Lunch is included. Please register below – we hope to see many of you there.
