Wifi for guests
Guests and visitors at the University can be given temporary access to the wifi network. Staff of Leiden University can arrange the accesss to wifi themselves via the Eduroam Visitors Accesss (eVA). If a guest wishes to make use of the University’s wifi network for longer, a ULCN guest account is the best option.
Up to 5 days wifi access for your guests
You can temporarily arrange access to the eduroam wifi network for your guests or visitors via eVA (Eduroam Visitor Access). All you need is your ULCN account.
How does it work?
- Go to eva.eduroam.nl/en/
- Login with your ULCN-account
- Click on 'create visitor'
- Fill in the details and click 'send'
Your visitor will be notified via e-mail and / or SMS that a temporary account has been created. You can give access to up to 3 guests at a time per month. The access is valid for 5 days. You can decide for yourself which 5 days your visitor should have access. After 5 days, the temporary account will automatically expire.
If you want to give more than three guests access to Eduroam, you can request it by using the Eduroam Visitor Access for groups form.
All accounts that are created, are registered. In case of misuse, the guest account will be disabled by the security officer.
Longer than 5 days wifi access for your guests
An ULCN guest account gives your guest or visitor access to the Eduroam network. It also gives you access to the unsecure Leiden University wifi network. If your guest wishes to make use of the University’s wifi network for longer than 5 days, a ULCN guest account is the best option.
You can apply for a ULCN guest account via your gms contact person or via your supervisor.
