Username
To use workspaces and other applications, you need an account. Here you can read more about the structure of your username, how to use it, and how to retrieve it if necessary.
Structure of user name
- Your username is generated as follows: family name + initials + filler (e.g., grootjjde).
- The username has a maximum of 20 characters. If a username already exists, the next username is assigned a sequence number.
Are you logging in via Microsoft? Then complete your username with @vuw.leidenuniv.nl (e.g. grootjjde@vuw.leidenuniv.nl)
Forgotten
If you have forgotten your username, there are two options for recovering it:
- Account Services
Have you registered a non-university email address? Click the link on the login page, to retrieve your username through Account Services. - Helpdesk
It you are unable or unwilling to use Account Services, you can contact the helpdesk to ask for your username.
