Your new go-to for teaching: The Science Teacher Platform is live!
How can you improve the educational design or assessment of your course? How should you set up Brightspace? And how can you develop yourself as a teacher? You can now find the answers to these and many more questions on the new Science Teacher Platform.
Whether you just started teaching or have been at it for a while, the Science Teacher Platform is your new go-to resource for teaching at the Faculty of Science. It contains information, guidelines, tips and best practices for every step of the teacher development cycle: from the practical matters you need to arrange, to innovating your course.
SEEDS, the Science teacher support desk, built the platform over the summer to bring together all information for teachers in one place. Anne-Martine Gielis, the SEEDS team lead says: 'We noticed that teachers from different institutes often have similar questions about didactics, education tools and practical matters. Now they can find many answers on the platform right when they need them.'
A great starting point for teachers
Can you still get 1-on-1 support for your education? 'Of course, that won’t disappear. The general information is useful but sometimes you simply need a more tailored approach. We are always happy to help,' ensures Gielis.
The structure and design of the platform are inspired by the teacher platform of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Science. The team is not yet done though: ‘We will be expanding the platform with information from other faculty services throughout the academic year. Full translation to Dutch is also coming.’
