A word of thanks for interim board members Janine Ubink and Jan Adriaanse
‘Finding interim board members was no easy task ̶ you’re in an uncertain situation with lots of unknowns. If someone’s willing to step down from their own position to respond to an “urgent” call to serve on the Board, and roll up their sleeves to help the faculty progress, that’s an achievement we should acknowledge.’
These words of thanks from Dean Suzan Stoter were for Jan Adriaanse, interim Vice Dean for Education, and Janine Ubink, interim Vice Dean for Research. Both were commended for their work for the faculty and the interim board, which they carried out with great care, diligence and loyalty.
On behalf of the ‘new’ Faculty Board and Academic Directors, they were thanked for all their hard work and dedication as members of the interim board in 2023. The Dean presented them with a fitting gift: the book ‘Het aanzien van 2023’, an overview of world news in 2023.
Jan Adriaanse thanked all those he worked with during his time as interim Vice Dean and said it had been a great honour. ‘Though it was a challenging time, from day one the board and Academic Directors agreed that we’d all have to work together and that’s what we did’. Janine Ubink said she would save her speech for when she steps down from her current role as Director of Research. In this role, she continues to advise the Faculty Board on research-related matters.
