
Maartje van der Woude appointed as Series Editor for prestigious Routledge book series
Professor Maartje van der Woude, Professor of Law & Society at the Van Vollenhoven Institute, has been appointed as one of the three new series editors for the Routledge Studies in Criminal Justice, Borders and Citizenship.
This internationally renowned book series publishes cutting-edge interdisciplinary work that explores the intersections of criminal justice, migration, security, and citizenship.
Over the next five years, Van der Woude will co-lead the series together with Professor Maggy S Y Lee of the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong, and Professor José A. Brandariz of the ECRIM research group at the University of A Coruña in Spain. Together, the editorial team brings a wealth of experience and a truly global perspective to the series, further strengthening its position at the forefront of scholarship in this fast-evolving field.
Van der Woude’s appointment reflects her internationally recognized expertise in the areas of crimmigration, border policing, and the sociology of law. Her work combines socio-legal analysis with empirical field research, making her an ideal candidate to help shape the intellectual direction of the series.
The Routledge Studies in Criminal Justice, Borders and Citizenship series is a key platform for scholars examining how borders, security, and citizenship are being reconfigured in the context of global mobility and control.
