Leiden University gives its students the opportunity to assemble part of their programme themselves, which enables them to choose their own areas of emphasis. One way in which they can do this is to follow a minor, a coherent package of courses worth 30 credits.

If you notice something you think may be unethical or illegal, you can discuss this in confidence with the confidential counsellor.

Depending on its purpose, assessment can support ongoing learning, provide final evaluations, or help students reflect on their own progress.

There are several ways in which the quality of education within our faculty is safeguarded. Quality assurance refers, among other things, to course evaluations, programme committees, examination boards, and external reviews and accreditations.

A web lecture in most cases shows a recorded lecture, often in combination with interactive slides or a blackboard. The lecture recording can be made available afterwards or streamed live for students who cannot attend the live lecture.

When performing contract research or providing courses for a third party, you must charge a fee. This fee must be at least equal to the total cost price.
