After two years the LACDR Barbecue took place again on Monday the 20th of June. This was a great success. In the sun while enjoying a drink and nice food, everyone had the opportunity to talk to each other again during a social event. Thanks again to everyone who helped during this event.

As a new initiative of the LACDR Institute Council, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team celebrated diversity and raised awareness about DEI with a first LACDR Internationals’ Day on September 22, 2022.

Recently, we had the LACDR PhD Introductory course on Drug Research for starting PhD candidates. It was great to have this live event live in castle Oud Poelgeest, after two years of restrictions.

The PhD introductory course will take place on 30 May, 31 May and 1 June 2022 in castle Oud Poelgeest. We are very happy that it will be a live event (as it stands now).

The Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR) has received a €750,000 grant from ZonMw for QPharmNL. This is a continuing education programme that trains professionals in computational techniques in pharmacology for innovative drug development.

As of 1 September Miranda van Eck will be the new Scientific Director of the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research. She succeeds Hubertus Irth, who led the institute since 2016. Van Eck has been appointed for a period of four years.
