It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Prof. Dr. Frans W. Saris.

Jeroen Touwen officially joined the Campus The Hague Board on 28 November.

Jan Aarts will stay on as scientific director of LION for another year. He has been reappointed until 1 March 2024. His successor is already known. Sense Jan van der Molen will take over next year. He will be the new scientific director of LION until 1 March 2028.

As of 1 July, Marcellus Ubbink is the new Scientific Director of the Leiden Institute for Chemistry. He will succeed Hermen Overkleeft, who led the institute since 2017. Ubbink has been appointed for a period of four years.

Roeland Merks is the new director of the Lorentz Center as of 1 September. He has been appointed for a period of five years. As of 16 August Ignas Snellen is the new Scientific Director of the astronomical institute of the Faculty of Science. He will succeed Huub Rottgering, who led the institute since 2012. Snellen has been appointed for a period of four years.

Marcello Bonsangue will be the new Scientific Director of the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) from January 2024. Bonsangue has been appointed for four years. He succeeds Aske Plaat, who led the institute for eight years.
