Microsoft Teams Phone
As a member of staff, you can use Teams Phone for internal phone calls, or to call both mobile numbers and fixed numbers. To do so, you need to be logged in to your university Microsoft 365 account.
How Teams Phone works
Phoning via Teams (Teams Phone) is progressively replacing the use of fixed workplace landline telephones. Teams Phone integrated in the university’s Microsoft 365 environment. You can use the Microsoft Teams application on your laptop, desktop, smartphone or tablet, or you can choose to log in to your university account in your web browser via https://teams.microsoft.com/.
Via the Teams app you can make or receive calls on your university phone number. You can also search for and phone colleagues by name, even if you do not have their number. You can easily set your own telephone availability.
Desk phones
The traditional desk phones (Cisco telephones) that use the central phone system are being phased out. They are being replaced by Microsoft Teams Phone. Most employees will use Teams on their laptop or smartphone, but in a few specific workplaces, such as service desks, labs and technical rooms, physical Teams phones will be available.
