Overview of lecture halls equipped with Mediasite
SEEDS coordinates this process of scheduling recordings in Mediasite. When your lecture takes place in a hall with Mediasite, we plan a recording. You'll receive an email the week before the lecture is scheduled.
Mediasite weblectures are audiovisual recordings of lectures. A recording consists of video and/or audio of the speaker and an image of what is projected in class (PowerPoint, Prezi, videos, etc.). Besides weblecture recordings, Mediasite allows lectures to be livestreamed (with a 30-60 seconds delay) for at home viewing or in another classroom. It’s possible to add a moderated Q&A to Mediasite livestreams.
To the right you find a manual on the set up of Mediasite in the lecture hall itself.
Zoom is the best tool to record lectures in halls without the Mediasite functionality.
To the right you find a manual on the set up of Zoom in regular lecture halls.
Teams can be used as a platform to host meetings, also for educational purposes.

Videos that are recorded in Zoom are automatically stored in the video portal under 'My Media'. This is also where you can change the video settings, shorten the videos, and share/publish your videos to a channel or Brightspace course.
From the My Media section of the video portal you can:
- Publish videos to your channel or your Brightspace course;
- Add people to a video as an editor of co-viewer;
- Set the link to a video to 'unlisted', which entails that anyone can watch the video through the link;
- Check the video analytics.
Here you find more information about video settings: manual videoportal website.
Check out the video toolkit for inspiration on creating videos. The toolkit gives useful tips on what to take into consideration when making weblectures, but also on topics like how to present in front of a camera, and what to think about when setting up a camera.
SEEDS manages a studio in the Gorlaeus (CM.K1.01a). You can use the studio to record simple weblectures in a low noise environment.
