Park your bike in the basement of Lipsius or Reuvens
Many people are unable to park their bike in front of the Lipsius building due to a lack of space. This leads to all kinds of problems, such as people parking on and near our neighbours’ property, overcrowding, damage, blocking each other and emergency exits and unacceptable behaviour towards colleagues at the General Services Department. All of this can be avoided, as there is plenty of space to park bikes in the covered bicycle sheds and bike racks under and near the Lipsius and Reuvens buildings.
Bike racks in front of the main entrance to be removed
In order to improve traffic flow, safety and hospitality, the above-ground bike racks in front of Lipsius will be removed at the beginning of the academic year, and everyone will be advised to use the covered bicycle sheds. The space currently used for parking bikes will be transformed into a seating area where people can meet, as a prelude to the new Humanities Campus.
The new situation will soon be evaluated with the municipality of Leiden, the owner of the bike racks. If you have any questions, please contact huisvesting@hum.leidenuniv.nl.
Opening hours
Bike parking Lipsius: you may enter from 07:30 - 18:00 hours and leave untill 22:00 hours (this is for security reasons).
Bike parking Reuvens: open from 07:30 - 23:00 hours
