Delay in renovation works at Huizinga building: status update
To minimise disruption caused by renovation, various works were scheduled this summer in the Huizinga and Lipsius buildings. Unfortunately, due to supply issues, the replacement of the glass in Huizinga has been delayed. The works are still ongoing and are expected to continue until mid to late November.
The windows in the lecture rooms have already been replaced. Exterior painting has also commenced. The painter is taking into account that the building is now fully operational and is working accordingly.
From 22 September, the pivot windows in the offices will be replaced. Each window takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Staff working in Huizinga will be kept informed of progress via email. Efforts are being made to minimise disruption, and cleaning will take place immediately after the work is completed.
Additional renovation works will also be carried out on upcoming Saturdays. From Saturday 4 October, the glass around the entrance will be replaced. As the building is normally closed at weekends, these works are not expected to cause any inconvenience to Huizinga users.
Staff experiencing disruption or issues as a result of the works can contact the Huizinga building manager or reach out via ServicedeskWSD@UFB.leidenuniv.nl.
