Lecture

An ORCID iD is a unique code that identifies you as a scientist in a reliable and consistent way, much like the social security number in a passport. DOI does the same but for a scientific publication instead of a person. DOI and ORCID iD are examples of persistent identifiers.

Each degree programme has its own programme committee. This is a legal requirement. Students and lecturers sit on the programme committee. Together they monitor the quality of the teaching, flag up any problems and advise on the development and implementation of the teaching policy.

If you bring in a (new) person who will be processing personal data for you, this person is not allowed to use this information for his or her own purposes. You need to formalise this in a data processing agreement. The university will usually have an agreement in place.

The confidential counsellor for research integrity is your first port of call for any questions or situations relating to research integrity, or if you have suspicions about a current or former employee of Leiden University. All your meetings with the confidential counsellor are confidential.
