ICT

Good ICT resources are crucial for having a smooth working environment at your new place of employment. Here we briefly explain what you need and where you can find the most important ICT services.

A complete overview of important ICT services can be found on the ICT page. Some of them are explained below.

Your ULCN account

Every Leiden University employee is given a ULCN account. You use this account to log into your PC, the Wi-Fi network and various other ICT systems. When you start working for the university, you will automatically receive an e-mail message or letter with your ULCN login information. You do not need to request an account. More information about ULCN >>

Important ICT services

Here is an overview of the most important ICT services:

  • Office 365
Office 365 allows you to access your university workplace from any location with your own devices.
  • Working from home
Do you need access from home to your programmes and files? Please use the university’s Webmail, Office 365 and OneDrive.
  • Email at your workplace
At your workplace you will use Outlook. You may also synchronise your own (mobile) device with your university email.
  • Remote Workplace
Remote Workplace allows you to access your university workplace using your own devices.
  • Printing and copying
From your workplace you can copy and print anywhere at the university using the so-called multifunctional devices. In some cases you will need an LU-Card to do this.

Help and support

Do you have questions about or problems with your university workstation? You can find a lot of ICT information on the Helpdesk Portal. Once you have an ULCN account, you can find information and ask questions there. Who to contact if you have other ICT-related questions can be found on the Help and Support page.
