PhD Introductory meeting
Your career as a PhD candidate at Leiden University or Leiden University Medical Center starts with the introductory meeting. These meetings are organised five times a year, and are compulsory for all new PhD candidates. You preferably attend the meeting within the first 2-3 months after registration.
In 2022, introductory meetings will be held on the following dates:
- 16 March (online)
- 25 May (offline, Academy Building)
- 14 September (offline, Academy Building)
- 12 October (online)
- 16 November (offline, Academy Building)
All meetings start at 13:30 and end at 16:00.

At this moment the introductory meeting is online (13:30 - 16:00).
First of all, the Executive Board will welcome you as a new scientist. Subsequently, several speakers will discuss subjects that will help you to become part of our academic community. For instance, there will be presentations on scientific integrity and special courses for PhD candidates.
