11-15 August El Cid
From Monday 11 to Friday 15 August 2025, the annual El Cid will take place in Leiden. This introduction week is intended for new students starting their studies at Leiden University and is known for its wide range of activities, introductory events and festivities spread throughout the city.
During this week, the El Cid organisation will use various university grounds and buildings, including lecture halls, squares, the USC and other facilities. These locations will be used for workshops, information sessions, sports activities and cultural events, among other things.
Although every effort will be made to ensure that the activities run smoothly, there may be some inconvenience during this period. This could include increased crowds, noise nuisance or limited access to certain areas. We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that the new students can experience a warm welcome and a good start to their academic careers.
