New: Talent and Development Platform combines GROW, recruitment & selection and learning and development

As of 6 October 2025, Leiden University uses a new platform for three three key HR processes: GROW, recruitment and selection and learning and development. The three processes have been incorporated into one digital environment: the Talent and Development Platform. 

The platform, which is based on the SAP SuccessFactors system, can be accessed through the Service Portal until end of year. This will change with the migration to BAS Insite. More information will follow in January 2026. 

What does this mean for you?

The Talent and Development Platform is where your GROW interviews will take place. The GROW form looks the same but offers extra options. You can now use it to record 360-degree feedback, team goals, development ambitions, and leadership and University Job Classification System (UFO) competencies. 

Important dates and changes

Starting 6 October you will find two tiles in the  Service Portal: 

Tile ‘GROW – Started before 6 October’:

  • This is where you will complete current GROW interviews that you started before 6 October. 
  • Please note: you have until 30 November to complete your reports. If you do not complete your reports, they will not be migrated to the new platform. 
  • Only completed reports from the past five years will be migrated to the new platform. If you wish to keep older reports for yourself, you need to save them before 31 December. 
  • This tile will remain accessible in December so you can still view your interview reports. 

Tile ‘GROW – from 6 October’:

  • Here you can start new interviews and complete the ones started after 6 October. 
  • This tile will remain fully functional throughout December. The only exception is that it will not be possible to change a manager in the GROW module during December (for example, if you have recently been assigned a new manager). This limitation is necessary to align our core system in preparation for the transition to BAS InSite. 
  • From October 6 onward, GROW will only support your main employment contract if you have two or more contracts with the university. 
  • Managers will not have access to transferred reports. This measure safeguards your privacy. Please make sure to share agreed upon actions/goals from the archived report with your manager.

The Recruitment & Selection module in the Talent and Development Platform is available for recruiting and selecting talent. Vacancy holders will  find all the relevant processes here, including creating job postings and assessing candidates, as well as appointing and reassigning staff. 

There is a wide range of training courses to support your career and personal and professional development. As in previous systems, the Talent and Development Platform allows you to search for what you need.
