How does mental health affect families and continue across generations — and where can we break that chain? We are pleased to invite you to an FSW Health & Well-being lunch meeting on the theme of Mental Health across the Generations.
In three short presentations, we will connect three inspiring FSW research projects related to this theme:
- Leonie Vreeke will discuss the development of preventive group interventions: what the effective components are, who they are designed for, and how to create impact early in the chain.
- Hannah Spencer will take us into laboratory research on how stress influences empathy and sensitivity, and what this reveals about the neurobiological mechanisms underlying parenting.
-
Wilma Wentholt will focus on adolescents and demonstrate how different family perspectives can be disentangled using both observational methods and self-report measures.
We will conclude with a short discussion on the connection between what works (prevention), why it works (mechanisms), and how it is experienced (perspectives) — across generations.
Please bring your own drinks; lunch will be provided.
You can register via the button below. We kindly ask you to register by 2 June at the latest.
