If you are going on a business trip to a destination that poses health risks, make an appointment with the Department of Safety, Health and Environment (VGM). The staff at VGM can provide you with personal health advice before your trip.
Business trips abroad are not permitted until further notice, unless the Executive Board gives prior permission in writing. This applies to all trips, regardless of the colour code. Read more >>
In your appointment, the staff at VGM will assess your health, your destination, the length of your trip, how you will be travelling and the activities that you will be undertaking and will issue you with advice and indicate whether you will require any vaccinations or malaria medication. Any vaccinations can be administered at the end of the appointment.
Advice and vaccinations
The specialised nurses at VGM will advise you and administer any vaccinations. If you have special medical needs or require specific vaccinations, the staff at VGM will work together with the vaccination outpatient clinic at the LUMC. All vaccinations will be recorded in a vaccination book, which is an international certificate of immunisation. If you already have one, please bring it with you to your appointment.
VGM follows the guidelines of the Landelijk Coördinatiecentrum Reizigersadvisering (the national coordination centre for travel advice; LCR). The doctor in charge at VGM is an occupational physician who has LCR certification.
Making an appointment
Some vaccinations must be administered several times, so it is advisable to make an appointment as soon as you know when you will be travelling. You can visit us from Monday to Friday, from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 3 pm to 4 pm. First call 071-5263643 or mail for an appointment with one of our nurses.
Fees and expense claims
We charge the same fees for everyone. You have to pay by PIN immediately. You can submit an expense claim for vaccinations through Self Service by selecting Travel and Expenses and listing them as 'other expenses'. Include a copy of the invoice. If you have any questions, please contact the FSSC Service Point.
